The short answer
Yes, online casinos are legal in Ontario if they are registered with iGaming Ontario. Check the official operator list before you sign up. You must be 19 or older and in the province.
We do not list offshore casinos on this page. Ontario residents should use operators registered with iGaming Ontario, because that is where provincial player protection applies.
How the Ontario Online Casino Market Works
The regulated market launched on April 4, 2022. The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) sets the standards and registers operators, while iGaming Ontario (iGO) contracts with them. Every legal site must show the iGO mark, which links to the official registry.
| Market data, Ontario | Value | Period | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Total wagers | C$82.7 billion | FY 2024-25 | iGaming Business, citing iGO |
| Gross gaming revenue | C$3.2 billion | FY 2024-25 | Same |
| Revenue growth | About 32% year on year | FY 2024-25 | SiGMA News |
These figures are external and were reported by trade press. They exclude OLG. They show the market's size, not any single casino's quality.
How to Find the Best Online Casino in Ontario
- Go to the iGaming Ontario operator list.
- Find the brand and confirm its exact web address.
- Check the iGO mark on the casino's site.
- Then compare the games, payments and terms that matter to you.
Bonus rules in Ontario differ from the rest of Canada. Operators cannot advertise inducements publicly, so you generally see offers only after signing up. If you see "best paying online casino Ontario" claims, ask for the RTP of specific games, as our payout guide explains.
OLG Online Casino
OLG casino online play is run by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation through PlayOLG, the provincial site. It offers slots, tables, lottery and sports through Proline. OLG is reported separately from iGO's market numbers.
What You Get From an Online Casino Ontario Licence
- Age and identity checks.
- Deposit, time and loss limits.
- Rules on advertising and bonuses.
- A regulator you can approach after contacting the operator.
- Tested games.
New Online Casino Ontario Launches
New operators join the registry regularly. A new online casino Ontario launch must meet the same standards as the established names, which makes it safer to try than an unlicensed newcomer. Compare new entries in the registry against the brand's own site. Note that some brands register only some of their domains.

Toronto, Ottawa and Other Ontario Cities
There is no separate Toronto online casino or Ottawa casino online market. A registered site works anywhere inside the province, so someone in Hamilton, Pickering or Niagara sees the same operators as someone downtown.
City names in casino searches usually point to land-based resorts, such as Fallsview in Niagara Falls or Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto. Those businesses are separate from online operators, even when they share a brand.
What Makes a Site Legit in Ontario?
The test is simple: a legit online casino in Ontario appears on the iGaming Ontario list, with the same web address you are using. If it is missing from that list, it is not regulated for Ontario, however good its reviews look.
That makes "top 10" lists less useful here. Every safe online casino in Ontario passes the same standards, so compare what differs: game choice, payment methods such as Interac or Paysafecard, and how clearly the site explains its limits.
Ontario Online Casino Sign Up Bonus Rules
Ontario restricts how operators advertise bonuses. You will rarely see a public welcome bonus, so most offers appear only after you register or log in. Treat any "free welcome bonus for Ontario" advert on an unregistered site as a warning sign.
Payout Speed and Your OLG Login
The fastest payout online casino in Ontario depends more on your method and on verification than on the brand. A quick payout starts with a verified account, as our payout guide explains.
If you need your OLG online casino login, type olg.ca into your browser yourself. Never follow a login link from an email or message.
